City of Joy Vision, values & Vibe

 series1-kingdom

Our Vision

.
To reach the lost, disciple the found, train and release all, so that all reach their full potential in Christ, to the glory of God.
Reach - Reaching the lost is part of our DNA
Disciple - Discipleship is fundamental to who we are. We are called to 'make disciples' not just 'converts'
Train - Train all: although not everyone will be - or want to be - a leader, all have the potential.
Release - Release all: there is nothing more frustrating than being trained and yet never released.
Glorify God - This is what we are all about...it's not all about City of Joy. It's all about God!
Advancing the Kingdom of God....Warfare: Let Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Calling His kingdom, His Kingship to invade earth

Our apostolic mandate from God is to:
Disciple the nations by planting New Testament churches in every village, town, city, and country that God calls us to, either by prophetic words or doors of opportunity He opens to us. City of Joy is being positioned to be a base church reaching both neighbour and nation. Outreach (evangelism) and Inreach (relationship) are part of our DNA.

Our Values

SPIRIT - WORD - INREACH - OUTREACH

SPIRIT & WORD: Q. What marked the people of God out more
than anything else in the early Church?
                            A. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and
                            spoke the Word with boldness.

INREACH & OUTREACH: Q. What is reaching in?
                                       A. To love and look out for one another:
'They will know that you are mine by your
                                        love for one another'

                                       Q. Why outreach?
                                       A. 'To go' into all the world with the good news
                                       is a command from Jesus.
When you are baptised in the Holy Spirit you are
                                       propelled out in His power.

Our Vibe

The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is God's primary way of revealing himself to us so that we might know Him; that the scriptures in their original form were inspired by God Himself; that they carry His supreme authority, and are trustworthy. They have been given to us by God for the purpose of teaching us how to be fully equipped and qualified for right living (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Worship of God
We see from the Word of God that worship is a lifestyle, not a once a week occurrence. The King of Glory deserves, and in fact, demands, constant worship. We believe that real worship flows from a heart of love, passion, awe for, and fear of God. We recognise that worship takes on many forms, from vibrant dancing and shouting, to being prostrate and silent before God.

The Witness of God
'Your lifestyle is shouting at me so loud, that I can't hear what you are saying'.

We are 'living epistles'. We believe that the witness of God is revealed by our lifestyles, and not merely by our words, titles and badges!

The Works of God
'His ways are not our ways'.

We believe that God works among us all the time, and we recognise the works and gifts of the Holy Spirit in the fruit of our lives. Jesus declared that God is Spirit and God declared that He created us in His image and in His likeness. We are growing and becoming more like God by walking and living in the Spirit daily.

The Team of God
We believe that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. From Creation until now, God has worked as 'team'. We believe that God has called leaders with teams to advance the Kingdom of God - i.e. the disciples, the apostles, the church, etc.
