About Us

We are called City of Joy as a 'speaking to the dry bones' prophetic word over our City (Acts 8: 7-8)
City of Joy is a vibrant and 'alive' place to be, where miracles do happen. We have seen physical healings, freedom from drug addiction, freedom from depression, many salvations, many moves of the Holy Spirit, prophetic words coming to pass, and an incredible sense of the presence of God in our meetings.
We believe we are here for a reason, not just a season.
In 2002, City of Joy began with one family: two adults and two kids since then it has more than doubled every year, such that today we now have over 60 of us meeting at the Belmont Cinema. In that 60 there are nearly 20 nations represented. Thus we are not another 'slogan' international church, but a truly internationalone. In June 2007, we moved our offices into the cinema and you can now find City of Joy staff there Tuesday through to Friday (Mondays is our day off - yippee!!). If you want to come and see us, give us a bell on 01224 622 300.

Other things to know about City of Joy...
We are not an independent church (i.e. 'loose cannon' fellowship). We relate to 20,000 churches in over 80 nations through our relationship and partnership with New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI). We choose to be accountable to the NCMI Apastolic Team.
There are more than 80 couples in the NCMI apostolic team, spread strategically throughout the world. There are three such couples based here in the UK. These are :
Nigel & Melita Day-Lewis - London Church International
Ant & Helen Rist - Forest Town Church, St Albans
